Off-Season Workout Hours Club!

Hey Everyone,

 

Coach Kayla and Coach Corey sharing some information with you.  This off season we will be having an 300/200/150 hour club! We are really excited about this and would love to see you all participate!  This club starts tracking hours of growth and improvement on April 1st and continues through September 30th ( 6 months or 183 days!).  The goal of this club is to see each player in our program improve their abilities not only as a basketball player but as an athlete and person! Hours can be counted in MANY WAYS, not just basketball related(see links below for more details and calendar)

 

At the end, September 30th, every player who completes their required hours will submit them to Coach Kayla or Coach Corey and receive some Storm Basketball gear and be recognized at a Varsity basketball game!

 

We truly hoop everyone has a safe, healthy and productive off season!  Please reach out with any questions!!

  • Registration for all camps and clinics below is through District 112 Community Education, and is available now on their website. Links below to all registrations.

We have some exciting things coming soon!!
 
1. GRIT Workouts!
 
-Mondays Starting April 12th, 1 hour sessions with Coach Kayla. 
--We will be focusing on fundamentals, shooting, defense and more! Great opportunity to get into the gym!

Do you have a daughter who wants to keep her basketball game sharp after the season, wants to just keep playing, work on skills and get a chance to play some competitive games, and be around other kids? If so, this spring basketball opportunity could be great for you.

Who- Girls in grades 4-8th

  • 4th-5th grade session (5-6pm) - Session A
  • 6th,7th, 8th grade session (6:10-7:20pm) - Session B

Why- To help keep kids active and playing basketball. A great chance for kids who aren’t involved in a spring sport or who have time to play along with their spring sport. (not looking to compete with other in season sports, just giving opportunity for kids to play basketball)

What- An hour long session, with a focus on 30 minutes of skill development ( ball handling, footwork, shooting form, etc.) 30 minutes of game play to give a chance to work on skills in a competitive setting, practicing spacing, movement and having FUN playing basketball. Game play will be focused on 3 on 3, 4 on 4 with younger levels with some 5 on 5 with older groups.

2. Storm Basketball Camps!
 
June 21 - 24th and July 12th - 15th 
 
These will be camps filled with fundamentals, games, competition and more!I t’s time to join the fun! Camp is spent working on fundamentals, drills, and games that will help each athlete become a better all-around basketball player. We will put those skills into play in games such as 3 on 3 and 5 on 5. Join us to work on your game of basketball!  Sign up for the July camps and receive a T-shirt!  Lead by current Chanhassen Girls Head Coach Kayla Walsh and her coaching staff.

  • Section B & E - Gr. 5-6

Hey Everyone,

Hope all is well, I  wanted to get some information out in regards to Summer Basketball and weight training options. The Boys Basketball program will have 2 summer basketball options starting in June.

  1. Summer Clinics- This will be run most Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays in June and July. We will have hour and 15 minute sessions. Focusing on skill building ( dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork, screening and spacing) along with competitions ( 1 on 1, 3 on 3, 5 on 5).  The focus of our summer clinics is GROWTH! This will be a great option for players who want to improve their game!

Summer Clinics 

8:00am-9:15am- 9th grade

9:15am-10:30am- 3rd-4th grades  

10:30am-11:45am- 5th-6th grades 

11:45am-1:00pm- 10th-12th grade 

1:00pm-2:15pm-7th-8th grades 

Dates- June 15th,16th,17th,22nd,23rd, 24th, 29th, 30

July- 1st, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, 29th

Summer Basketball Clinics

 

  1. Chanhassen Storm Youth Boys Basketball Camps- Storm Youth Basketball Camp is focused on fun, game play, skill development and enjoying the game of basketball. Each day will have skill development, contests and competitive games (3 on 3, 5 on 5). Camp will run by Chanhassen Boys Basketball Head Coach Corey Christopherson, his staff and Storm high school players. Your child’s safety is our number one concern, we will be following guidelines from MSHSL, MDE and our preparedness plan put together with our school district.

 

Chanhassen Storm Youth Boys Basketball Camp 2021

K-1st- 1 hour long session 8:00am-9:00am (Run this session at Pioneer Ridge)

2nd-3rd-  1 ½ long session 9:30am-10:45am

4th-5th-  1 ½ long session 11:00am-12:30

6th-7th   1 ½ long session   1:00pm-2:30pm

8th-9th   1 ½ long session   2:45pm-4:15pm

Dates- July 12th,13th,14th,15th,

Chanhassen Storm Youth Boys Basketball Camp

 

There will also be strength training/sports performance options for students enters 7th grade and up. This will be run at Chanhassen High School, by Coach Barret Panning. A great way to introduce strength training to our younger athletes. Below are the links to register.

Girls Spring Basketball Skills for Current 4th-8th Graders

CNHS Girls Varsity Coach Kayla Walsh is inviting all girls currently in grades 4-8 to her Spring Basketball Skills Workouts Monday evenings April 12 - May 24!

 

Coach Walsh and her staff will run the sessions as an opportunity for players to continue working on their game in the off-season.
